How to protect your account from hacking
Check the addresses of the websites you visit
If a site seems suspicious to you, do not enter any of your personal information on it. Close the page immediately if a notification appears in your browser indicating that you have gone to a suspicious website.
Use an antivirus
Make sure your device is free of viruses. By using them, hackers can steal your files, lock your computer, and gain access to your passwords for various websites.
The following free programmes will help you quickly scan your computer and remove viruses:
- Kaspersky
- SUPERAntiSpyware
- Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
- AVG AntiVirus FREE
- Avast! Free Antivirus
- Comodo Antivirus
- Panda Cloud Antivirus
- Zillya! Antivirus
- 360 Total Security
- Bitdefender
Enable two-factor authentication in apps and on social networks.
While passwords can be easily hacked or figured out, hacking two-factor authentication is much more difficult for hackers.
Check your passwords
Many services and websites suffer from hacker attacks. Some of those are successful, causing user data to leak online and fall into the hands of fraudsters. You can check if your password has been leaked here: Astrill.
If you use a Google account, you can check your password in your account security settings.
